“A Bar with tradition”
Located
in a flowered alley in the heart of the town of Monchique, the Barlefante has
boosted the local social and cultural life of Monchique for more than 20 years.
From old stables, where horses and donkeys once
spend the night, a comfortable space with private corners linked with a
circular architecture was born.
Creating simultaneously an intimate and
social atmosphere.
This
space is distinguished by its decoration, renewed periodically, where antic meets
contemporary art, in a harmonious fusion of shapes and colors.
By night,
selected music, live music acts or Dj´s generate a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere
that invite good fun.
By day, sandwiches
and toasties are created with homemade ingredients, delicious to all
generations, who take profit of pleasant afternoons on the Bars terrace,
located on the steps of a typical Portuguese cobble street.
Apart
from the Bar, that occupies the bigger area
of the Barlefante, there is an outside terrace, a dance floor, a games room, a
snooker room, internet space and art gallery.
The service is renowned for being familiar and friendly, children have various spaces to play about, including a terrace on a street where cars are not allowed.
